New administration - senior appointments

Councillor Steve Wain will be in charge at full Derbyshire Dales District Council meetings after being elected Chair of the Council at last night's first full council meeting of the new administration elected on 4 May. His deputy is Councillor Dawn Greatorex.

Councillors David Burton and Peter O'Brien will share the Chairing duties of the Council's key Planning Committee.

Other appointments include Councillor Martin Burfoot as Chair of the Community & Environment Committee, Councillor Nick Wilton Chair of Governance & Resources Committee, Councillor David Hughes Chair of the Scrutiny Committee and Councillor Steve Wain Chair of Licensing & Appeals.

The new Progressive Alliance of Liberal Democrats, Labour and Greens - announced earlier this week - was confirmed, with Councillor Steve Flitter (Lib Dem) elected Leader of the Council and Councillors Peter Slack (Labour) and Neil Buttle (Greens) as Deputy Leaders.
