High flying Civic Chairman's charity

Councillor Steve Wain raised £6,240 for his nominated charity - the Air Ambulance - during his year as Derbyshire Dales District Council's Civic Chairman.

The Matlock ward member, whose year in office ended at the Council's recent annual meeting, said:
"I wish to thank all those who kindly donated to this worthy cause. During my time collecting I have been moved by the number of people giving first hand experiences of how the Air Ambulance has saved members of their family.
"It has been a privilege to be Chairman of District of the Derbyshire Dales, which enabled me to promote this charity.
“Finally, I wish to thank all the people who helped me collect and in particular fellow councillor Mark Wakeman."
Receiving the money on behalf of the Air Ambulance in Derbyshire, Community Funding Executive Tracey Jones said:
"Thank you for the amazing amount you have raised and for supporting the charity."
