The team, which organise health and wellbeing activities across the Dales, will attend the virtual ceremony on 16 December after being listed in the award's Best Service Team of the Year category.
APSE, the Association for Public Service Excellence, maintains and develops a network of local government officers, managers and councillors from local authorities across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The District Council's Community Development Manager Becky Bryan said:
"We're thrilled to have made it this far. Our Active Dales Team is a small team delivering a wide variety of physical activity opportunities across the district to help improve the health and wellbeing of our residents.
"The service is integral to the delivery of a wide range of priority agendas. We deliver projects such as Club Development, Children & Young People’s activity, Corporate Health, Body MOTs, targeted work with inactive people and Active Ageing."
All but one member of the team are funded externally and operate the successful Walking for Health initiative in the Dales and focused projects for young people in areas such as Matlock's Hurst Farm - the district's largest housing estate.
During the two lockdowns to date activities have moved online, with fitness sessions broadcast on the Team's Facebook and YouTube channels.
"The Active Dales Team have engaged with hundreds of residents to take part in physical activity to help improve their mental and physical wellbeing.
"We have over achieved in what we set out to do across the year and have developed and built strong relationships with local partners, which is key to success."
