Garden waste collections to restart from 1 June

Our new Emergency Committee met for the first time on 21 May, agreeing to put in place measures that will enable garden waste collections to re-start in the district from 1 June.

Green waste collections have been suspended during the lockdown to enable household waste and recycling collections to be prioritised due to the council's waste and recycling contractor being impacted by coronavirus-related staffing issues.

Staff resources have been stretched not only by coronavirus shielding and self-isolation, but by social distancing requirements that mean bin crews are having to travel to locations in separate vehicles.
