Council Tax set for 2020/21

The District Council's share of your Council Tax in 2020/21 has been approved unanimously across all political and independent groups.

Our annual budget meeting, which can be viewed again (below) on our YouTube channel, agreed an increase of £5 a year for residents in the Council Tax D category - from £209.27 to £214.27 - that's the equivalent of 10p extra a week.

In other categories, those in A category will pay 6p extra a week, B 7p extra, C 9p extra, E 12p extra, F 14p extra, G 16p extra and H 19p extra.

As a District Council we collect Council Tax from you on behalf of ourselves and other local authorities and emergency services. Our share is only 11% - the majority (around 70%) goes direct to the County Council and we also collect Council Tax on behalf of Derbyshire Police, Derbyshire Fire & Rescue service and your local town or parish council.

The 5 March meeting also adopted Corporate Plan targets for 2020-2024, setting out the District Council’s strategic priorities over the next four years.
