WATCH November Council meeting

Business debated at our November full council meeting pn Thursday (21 November) included a report on the results of consultation with residents and a proposal for a completely new Corporate Plan for 2020-2024.

The 6pm meeting was broadcast live on our YouTube channel (below).

Also reported was the outcome of consultation with businesses and partners on the draft plan and adoption of the Derbyshire Dales Economic Plan 2019-2033.

There was a report on the final stage of the Polling Review and an update too on the public conveniences at Monsal Head, which, since their closure in May 2017, have been the subject of negotiations with a neighbouring hotel with the aim of enabling future toilets provision at the site at no cost to the District Council. The report notes progress has been slow but that a Community Interest Company has now come forward too.

There was also a Proposal of a Notice of Motion that the Council works with the Emergency Services to amend the wording relating to noise and smoke nuisance in its existing Bonfire and Firework Safety Scheme to state that because noise and smoke may effect the elderly, young children, and pets that displays should be advertised in advance of the event, allowing residents to take precautions for their animals and vulnerable people.
