Your District Council, which owns the ground floor market hall and covered bus bay area next to the M&S Foodhall, is undertaking a public consultation on possible development opportunities there.
Initial market testing has revealed the potential to create a cinema within the market hall supported by food and beverage, retail units and a community space.
The survey, which can be completed online until 24 November, seeks views on the draft development brief. This will form part of the document inviting formal expressions of interest in the site from developers and/or operators.

The District Council has been working with members of Matlock Community Vision to investigate potential development opportunities with the aim of integrating commercial and community uses.
Now the project has moved forward to the development brief stage, and a District Council spokesperson said:
"Financial viability will be key to any development proposals for part or the whole of the site being progressed, but at this stage we welcome the views of local people, users of the market hall and stakeholders and hope their comments will positively encourage interest in the site.
"While some re-organisation may be required to the passenger waiting area should development proposals progress, it should be noted that the proposals do not affect existing bus or taxi services available from this location."
