Free business advice from Derbyshire Dales District Council has enabled the highest pub in the county to improve dining facilities for customers.
The Barrel Inn at Bretton's popular restaurant has been expanded to cater for more customers in a restyled dining area which can now accommodate 100 people.
Following support from Derbyshire Dales Business Advice, the Inn has gone on to secure LEADER grant funding to help finance the revamp of the venue that serves real ales and a wide menu choice, using many local suppliers.
As part of the refurbishment project the kitchen was moved, expanded and upgraded to cater for an increase in meals being cooked, with several new staff employed. New washroom facilities have been built to further improve facilities for customers.
The pub is run by husband and wife team Phillip and Diane Cone, both of whom were both closely involved in planning the refurbishment project.
"We are very grateful for the helpful advice given by Derbyshire Dales Business Advisor Heather Bradford on how to apply for grant funding to realise our ambitions for this lovely old building. We are absolutely delighted with the results and look forward to welcoming many more customers in 2018."
