We are looking to recruit suitable people to carry out household visits as part of our annual Household Canvass.
You will be provided with Household Enquiry forms (HEF) (either electronically or on paper) for the properties in your allotted area that have not responded to our earlier correspondence. You will be required to visit each property (twice if necessary) to make contact with the occupiers and obtain the necessary information or encourage them to provide it electronically or by post.
In some cases you will need to contact specified individuals to encourage them to complete their individual registration form (ITR – Invitation to Register).
The personal canvass begins on 2 October and you will have approximately 6 weeks in which to undertake your visits. During that period you will need to regularly return any information you have collected to Matlock Town Hall and we will provide regular updates on properties that have responded in the meantime, to avoid unnecessary visits.
You will be the visible face of the District Council’s Electoral Registration Officer and, as such, need to be experienced in dealing confidently and courteously with a wide range of people. You should also be comfortable with working alone and, possibly, in the dark.
You will need to have access to a car and to have your insurance endorsed for business use.
We will provide relevant training prior to the personal canvass and support during the process.
For more information or an informal discussion please contact Julie Booth on 01629 761267 (working hours Monday – Thursday). See below for how to apply.
Closing date 15 September
