Parking in the Derbyshire Dales has been made even easier following additional improvements to council owned car parks.
Following an upgrade to the payment machines, residents and visitors will now have the option of paying by credit or debit card, including contactless payment, in many of the pay and display car parks.
In addition to traditional coin transactions, Derbyshire Dales District Council has introduced the contactless card payment feature in 26 of its 33 car parks and all machines have recently been converted to accept the new 12-sided pound coins. There are also further plans to introduce the option of making payment by mobile phone.
A District Council spokesperson commented:
"We are committed to making sure our car parks are welcoming and accessible to all residents and visitors. That’s why we are investing in them to make sure our customers have great facilities and various options of paying for parking.”
