If you're not already on the Electoral Register or plan to be away from home for the EU Referendum on 23 June, important deadlines are looming this week.
Anyone not already registered to vote must do so by the deadline of midnight this Thursday, 9 June. It only takes five minutes to register online.
This deadline has been extended from midnight on 7 June after problems affected the Government’s registration website late on Tuesday night. More details here.
Please note that you don’t need to register again in order to vote in the EU referendum if you live in the UK and both of the following apply:
- you were registered to vote in the May 2016 elections or the 2015 General Election
- you still live at the same address
If you're not sure if you are registered to vote please email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01629 761335. You can also inspect a copy of the electoral register at the Town Hall, Matlock, DE4 3NN.
If you plan to be away from home on 23 June, please note postal vote applications must reach us by 5pm this Wednesday 8 June. You can find more information on our EU Referendum page.
