There's an opportunity for locals who haven't tried netball since schooldays to turn back the clock every Thursday at Ashbourne Leisure Centre.
The District Council facility launches a 'Back to Netball' initiative this week, working with Ashbourne Netball Club, Derbyshire Dales Village Games and England Netball.
Aimed at ages 16-plus, the hour-long sessions run from 11.30am on Thursdays - and the Ashbourne launch follows successful 'Back to Netball' sessions staged weekly indoors at the District Council's Arc Leisure Matlock and outdoors, from April, at Brassington Recreation Ground.
Said Derbyshire Dales Village Games Coordinator Ian Dipaolo:
"The Ashbourne netball sessions are another boost for the Dales' status as one of the top regions in England for the number of adult females taking part in sport.
"The key aim is to improve basic fitness, learn some basic skills and have some fun - and it's not just about attracting participants who previously enjoyed netball at school or club level. We want to encourage people who fancy giving netball a go for the first time, and also convert those who maybe loathed the game at school!"
