The District Council's Sports Development team are organising a fun-packed Family Sports Day at the prestigious Eroica Britannia festival taking place at Bakewell Showground this weekend (19th – 21st June).
The vintage style Sports Day will take place on the Sporting Lawns on the afternoon of Saturday 20th June and will feature races for all ages and abilities.
Sports & Health Development Officer at the District Council Becky Bryan said:
"We are thrilled to be taking part in such an amazing and prestigious event. Our vintage style Family Sports Day will give families an opportunity to join in and compete in a whole variety of races and activities. We really are offering something for everyone from a traditional egg and spoon race and three-legged race to a fun-packed tug-of-war where family members can compete against each other and there's even a race for grandparents. Younger children can take part in parachute games and there'll also be a mass hula hoop activity"
Described as 'The most handsome festival in the world', Eroica Britannia runs from Friday until Sunday and as well as the Family Sports Day will feature a whole host of other family activities including The Great British Beach area with fairground attractions, a petting zoo, The British Bazaar with over 200 vendors, a food festival and a cracking line-up of live music.
Tickets are £10 for a 3 three-day weekend pass. Children under 12 go free!
