After a delayed start due to overnight snow, our crews left the depot before 9am this morning to tackle today's scheduled rounds and some areas missed yesterday because of the snow.
Although all four of our leisure centres are open as usual, snow disruption in many parts of the Derbyshire Dales means the crews will be focussing on more accessible areas - such as main roads - and will be working again tomorrow (Saturday) to continue the catch-up. However, a backlog is inevitable, and some Thursday and Friday collections could now run into next week.
So leave out bins and bags and please don't report a missed collection until we are in a better position to let you know about progress on the catch-up.
- A reminder that you can check your waste and recycling collections timetable via our postcode search.
- A reminder too that Derbyshire County Council are responsible for gritting and clearing snow. You can view their regular road updates here.
- Meanwhile all four of our leisure centres in Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock and Wirksworth are open as usual, but please take care on approach roads and paths.
- Unless the weather and road conditions deteriorate significantly later, this Saturday's Bakewell Farmers' Market is definitely on from 9am to 2pm.
