Young people aged 14-19 are urged to sign up to show some New Year resolution by joining in weekly StreetGames sessions in Matlock and Wirksworth hosted by the District Council.
StreetGames is a national sports charity that brings sport to the doorstep of young people in targeted communities.
Each session costs just £1 and young people are free to come and go as they please and choose the sports they want to take part in, whether it be football, dodgeball or cricket.
Two new sessions start in 2015 during term time every Wednesday from 14 January 6-7pm at the District Council's Wirksworth Leisure Centre new astro turf pitch and at Matlock's Cavendish Fields astro turf pitch every Friday from 16 January 7-8pm.
Chairman of the District Council's Community Committee, Councillor Jennifer Bower said:
"StreetGames is for young men and young women who want to participate in local sport, are interested in volunteering and want to improve their health and well–being. Our message is please give it a go in 2015 - and feel free to simply turn up on the night."
