Something is missing from Matlock's Crown Square - the famous centrepiece silver crown!
But worry not - our staff have removed it for safekeeping for the remainder of the festive season and it will be back in its rightful place early in 2015.
Crown Square is traditionally a magnet for revellers, especially on New Year's Eve, and the District Council has learned from experience that the crown is best kept out of harm's way.
