We normally have about 8 apprentices employed at any one time in a range of service areas across the District Council. These apprenticeships are a great opportunity to get recognised qualifications, learn new skills and gain valuable work experience. On completion of the apprenticeship there may be opportunities to do a second year qualification or apply for suitable vacancies with us.
Anyone living in England, over 16 years old and not in full-time education can apply for an apprenticeship. All apprentices will work a minimum of 37 hours per week which will include either day release at college or on-site training. We pay the apprenticeship rate plus 10%. As apprentices complete their training, we advertise for a replacement and this can be at any time during the year. Please keep a look out for opportunities as they arise on our recruitment page, or if looking for apprenticeship opportunities with other employers check out the National Apprenticeship Service website for vacancies and further information. Good luck!
