The Council’s Taxi and Private Hire Licensing Policy applies to all drivers, vehicles, and operators. The Policy is intended to ensure that both the trade and the public have a document that fully explains our licensing requirements in context for all parties in a clear and transparent manner.
The current Policy was first introduced in 2009 and was last reviewed in 2018. The Policy is required to be reviewed every 5 years or sooner for changes in legislation or any other significant reason. The Policy document below came into effect from the 1st May 2024.
