Walks for all

Fully accessible, dementia friendly, walk/stroll and talk

Walks for all January to March 2024 (pdf 0.3MB)

Walks for all April to June 2024 (pdf 0.3MB)

We are working in partnership with the Peak District National Park and Forget-me-nots group in Bakewell/Hathersage run by the CVS New Connections team to bring you two led walks a month in fully accessible locations with good car parking, facilities and cafes.

Walking Works! Walking is for everyone. It’s free, simple and gentle on the body. You can do it on these very short accessible, wheelchair friendly walks (though the Whitworth Park is on a slope).

Everyone is welcome to join these very short, slow walks which will enable those living with dementia and carers supporting loved ones to enjoy conversation, being outdoors and sharing experiences. All walks start and finish at a great cafe so bring some money for a cuppa and more of a chat afterwards. Fully accessible toilets available.

We guarantee a warm welcome and a programme of walks designed specifically for you at your pace

If you need someone to support you, please don’t come on your own as unfortunately we can’t offer any additional support. Please contact us and we will try to accommodate you.
