Welcome to our new website!

You may have noticed that we launched our new website at the start of this week - we hope you like it!

To help you, we've worked hard to make the website more accessible, including halving the number of pages and improving the navigation.

We've also tried to make the content more engaging and easier to understand. We’re currently waiting for the official accessibility score from our auditors, but internal assessments indicate a rating of “Excellent".

That's important, not only to meet the government's content design standard but also accessibility guidelines developed by the World Wide Web Consortium.

It means the www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk website, which attracts more than a million visits a year, is now easier to use for everyone, including people who use screen readers.

What's more, the new site has been developed in-house at minimal cost using an open source (free) content management system.

Let us know what you think

You're welcome to let us know your thoughts on the new site by using the website feedback form on the 'Report' tab at the top of every webpage.

Thank you!
