We've met again as the Derbyshire Dales Illegal Encampment Task Force, chaired by the Police and Crime Commissioner, to discuss the recent unauthorised encampment at Station Car Park in Matlock Bath.
All caravans that did not have permission to be at the site have now left after a court order was secured by Derbyshire Dales District Council. The site is still occupied by the local Traveller family to whom the District Council owes a legal duty.
The Illegal Encampment Taskforce, which comprises council leaders and senior council and police officers, only deals with those encampments/trespassers who do not have the owner's permission.
Any further issues at the Station Car Park should be reported directly to the Council or the Police.
