A new 'Couch to 5K' training programme launches in Ashbourne this Friday, 11 September, along with a New 'Run Fit' class.
Team member Janet Chadfield (pictured) said:
"The Couch to 5K program is perfect for those new to exercise or anyone who finds the thought of running very daunting.
"Often when people start an exercise program they can overdo it, feel defeated and give up before they really get started. This program supports people from day one and starts very simply with a combination of walking and running. Gradually, over time, this will build up fitness and stamina to the 5K run.
"Not only will people get a sense of achievement from completing the programme they will experience many health benefits from running."The new Run Fit class is a seven-week course designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength, tone and endurance and is suitable for people of all fitness levels whether an experienced runner or new to running but looking to improve your confidence.
The class combines a mix of different running speeds and distances, with body weight exercises for a full body workout.
Janet added: "Not only are these programmes a fun way to get fit, participants also get to meet new people."
