September Clean appeal to Dales communities

Derbyshire Dales District Council has pledged its support for this year’s Great British September Clean, run by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.

The campaign, which was postponed in early spring due to Covid-19, will run from 11-27 September 2020. It will encourage the great British public to take part in small, socially distanced clean-ups to remove litter from streets, parks and beaches across the country.

The Great British Spring Clean, brings together individuals, community organisations, businesses and councils to show they love where they live and in 2019 more than half a million #LitterHeroes collected more than 900,000 bags of rubbish.

Derbyshire Dales District Council is proud to support the campaign once again by encouraging groups and individuals who want to ‘do their bit’ to help clear up the litter that blights our streets and parks.  The council can offer support by providing equipment such as bags and litter pickers and collection of the bags of rubbish after your event.

Please read the coronavirus health and safety advice on the Keep Britain Tidy website before registering to take part.

Please register your event by 18th September using our online form.  Telephone 01629 761392 to find out more.
