Local people are being invited to comment on a draft neighbourhood development plan that sets out a vision for the future of Ashbourne.
If adopted, the policies in the Ashbourne Neighbourhood Plan will be used to help determine planning applications in the parish.
Drawn up by Ashbourne Town Council, with the help of the Neighbourhood Plan Group and the local community, the draft plan has been formally submitted to Derbyshire Dales District Council and is subject to a period of six weeks of publicity.
Local people can have their say on the document in an online consultation at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/AshbourneNP - and all representations received will be considered by an Independent Examiner who will report on the plan prior to a local referendum on the final document.
The draft Neighbourhood Plan, and supporting documents can also be viewed at the Ashbourne Visitor Information Centre on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. To view the documents at the Visitor Information Centre please make an appointment by telephone 01335 342291 (Option 3) or email email@example.com
Once 'made' by the District Council, the Neighbourhood Plan becomes a legal planning policy document that must be used in the assessment of planning applications and by developers preparing an application for submission to the planning authority.
