WATCH | February Planning meeting

Our councillors debated a hybrid planning application for the development of Ashbourne Airfield at the District Council's Planning Committee on Tuesday 4 February.

The Ashbourne Airfield application includes up to 367 new homes, 10 hectares of employment land and a commercial hub including hotel and other retail.

If approved, the local education authority is requesting contributions of more than £2-million for the provision of additional primary and secondary school places, while the local NHS clincal commissioning group is requesting £176,256 to meet the needs of 918 additional patients.

Also proposed is a renovation and extension of the social club building at Matlock's Hurst Farm, to transform it into a modern community facility with café, bar, farm shop and function room.
