Referendum result: Darley Dale Neighbourhood Plan

A Referendum was held yesterday (21 January) for the Darley Dale Neighbourhood Plan.

The total number of votes recorded represented 16.9% of the registered electors, with 682 voting in favour of the Plan and 117 against.

A report will be presented to our Community and Environment Committee on 19 February, recommending that the document be formally ‘made’ by the District Council in accordance with Section 38A(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.

Although the District Council will now have regard to the Neighbourhood Plan in the determination of planning applications, once formally ‘made’ the Darley Dale Neighbourhood Plan will become a formal part of the Derbyshire Dales Development Plan and will be used by the District Council to help it decide planning applications in the Parish of Darley Dale.
