The moment presenter Matt Baker leads the riders through a corridor of decorated boats from this year's Illuminations into the Gardens at 7.20pm will be captured live on BBC 1.
A team of six young people and Matt Baker are taking on an eight-day challenge to cycle 400 miles from Holyhead to London, and the day three route starts from Crewe and ends at Matlock Bath.
A District Council spokesperson said:
"As a council and organisers of the Illuminations we are immensely proud to be able to welcome the Rickshaw Challenge team to the Derbyshire Dales and I really do hope as many people as possible will turn out to cheer on the riders.
"It will be free to enter Derwent Gardens, but we'd like everyone to be in position no later than 7pm, when filming for the One Show Starts.
"We've been delighted to assist the One Show in the planning of this event and also in licensing their street collection for the fabulous Children in Need cause. This is one more opportunity to see not only this year’s fantastic decorated boats, but also the lights in the Gardens, which we have left in place to add to the brilliant spectacle."
The boats were built by members of the Matlock Bath Venetian Boat Builders’ Association and Paul Henshall, who has taken part in the decorated boats parade for the past 45 years, said:
"Thanks to LED lighting the boats are more spectacular than at any time in the history of the event and it's great that this year's models are going to be in the national spotlight, albeit on dry land on this occasion!"You can donate to the Rickshaw Challenge on the night or online here.
