Darley Dale Neighbourhood Plan moves to next stage

Derbyshire Dales District Council has agreed to move forward to a referendum on the Darley Dale Neighbourhood Plan on 21 January 2020 following the publication of an independent Examiner's report. 

Neighbourhood planning gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area. 

In accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations, the District Council has now published a Decision Statement and the Examiner's Report in respect of the Darley Dale Neighbourhood Plan. 

These can be viewed online and are also available at the District Council's Matlock Town Hall HQ and at the Whitworth Centre, Station Road, Darley Dale from Tuesday 9th December 2019. 

The District Council approved Darley Dale Town Council’s application for the designation of the whole of the Parish of Darley Dale as a Neighbourhood Area on 18th August 2014. 

Formal consultation was carried out by the Darley Dale Neighbourhood Plan Group between March and June 2018, when comments were invited from statutory consultees, interested groups and local people. These comments were used to inform subsequent drafts of the Neighbourhood Plan.
