Winning formula for Corporate Games!

Your District Council has hit on a winning formula with our Corporate Games event.

The third annual Games took place at a sunny Cromford Meadows on Thursday (16 May), with nine teams testing their skills in five sports - dodgeball, seated volleyball, rounders, netball and an obstacle course.

Pitching together workmates in the Derbyshire Dales, mixed teams of between eight and ten colleagues took part, and it was Bartco of Tansley – the ‘Dark Side’ – who emerged victorious, beating one of the YHA’s two teams - ‘Youthful Hopeful Athletes’ - into second place by just one point.

Derbyshire County Council’s Public Health Team came in third, the District Council’s ‘Dales Destroyers’ were fourth and other teams competed from Careport, MVIS and Steeple Grange Dental Care.

The three hour competition concluded with a bar and barbecue to reward team members’ exertions.

The District Council’s Community Development Manager Becky Bryan said:
"These Games go from strength to strength, so much so that we’re hoping to organise an additional winter event later in the year.
“As always, the event was great fun as well as being challenging and competitive, with workmates pitching themselves against other companies. Our thanks go to everyone who supported the event and to our excellent hosts, Matlock Rugby Club.”
