Spring Clean appeal to Dales communities

Your District Council is backing a campaign to get half a million people out and about cleaning up their local communities in March 2018.

Now in its second year The Great British Spring Clean will take place from 2 to 4 March, and aims to help to bring people together and clean up the country.

TV wildlife presenter and children’s favourite Steve Backshall is lending his support to the campaign, which is backed by the key anti-litter charities including Keep Britain Tidy.

Derbyshire Dales District Council is encouraging groups and individuals who want to ‘do their bit’ to help clear up the litter that blights our streets and parks. The council can offer support by providing equipment such as litter pickers and collection of the bags of rubbish after your event.

A council spokesperson said:

‘We are delighted to be supporting the Great British Spring Clean and we encourage as many groups, individuals, organisations and schools as possible to take part’.

Whilst the Spring Clean weekend focuses on 2 – 4 March, the District Council is happy to support events outside of this time frame too.
