Your District Council took part in the annual #OurDay tweetathon on 21 November, showcasing the things we do to improve the quality of life for Derbyshire Dales residents.
From cleaning public loos, sweeping streets, emptying bins and running leisure centres to installing CCTV cameras, organising health walks and markets and keeping our parks and play areas looking great... it's all in a day's work for our teams.
At our Town Hall HQ during a single day we took over 400 phone calls, greeted more than 60 visitors and answered over 100 emails, including 5 Freedom of Information requests, plus we dealt with 5 licences for the sale of alcohol, 4 for animal boarding, 3 for pet shops and 3 horse for riding establishment licence renewals. Then there were 5 taxi drivers’ vehicle licence renewals.
And our waste & recycling teams were on the road from 6.45am, visiting 6,800 Dales homes.
