Local Air Ambulance funds have been boosted by more than £2,100 thanks to a charity auction organised on Monday (9 October) by the Civic Chairman of the Derbyshire Dales, Councillor Steve Flitter.
More than 50 Lots – many donated by local businesses – ranged from books, games, football match tickets, local meals out, paragliding and champagne to sailing, a Chatsworth membership, a car MOT, jewellery, a round of golf and family tickets to local attractions.
Said Councillor Flitter:
“I am extremely grateful to everyone who contributed to the auction and delighted that this event engaged local businesses and residents in working together for a great cause.”
The auction in the Council Chamber at Matlock Town Hall was preceded by a fund-raising afternoon tea attended by several fellow civic leaders.

Councillor Flitter was elected Chairman of the Derbyshire Dales earlier this year. In addition to representing the District Council at around 100 official functions with his wife Ann, Councillor Flitter is organising special fund-raising events for nominated charities and has also pledged to revive the council’s community awards scheme.
