Women's walking football kicks off in Baslow

The relatively new craze of Walking Football has been going down a storm in the Derbyshire Dales; so much so that the District Council’s Sports Development team are now expanding this very popular activity to include a women only session in Baslow.

The weekly sessions of a game that has all the same rules as football but with no running start on Monday 4th April at Baslow’s Sports Field and are open to all abilities, and what’s more the first week is free!

At a cost of just £3 on subsequent weeks, participants will get an hour’s football between 2-3pm followed by a complimentary tea or coffee inside the pavilion. There’s no need to bring any specialist equipment, just footwear and clothing which is comfortable as you will still work up a sweat.

The District Council's Village Games Coordinator Ian Dipaolo, said:

"Walking Football is one of the latest crazes in the football world and we’re delighted to be able to introduce these Women’s only sessions. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends, have fun and enjoy a cuppa afterwards!.”

The transfer window is open for new signings, so if you’re interested in joining or want to find out more please contact Ian Dipaolo on 01629 761387
