The reopening of the teaching pool at Derbyshire Dales District Council's Arc Leisure Matlock has been delayed as investigations continue into a problem that has forced its temporary closure.
The Council announced the closure of the pool earlier this month due to an issue with the tiles and further investigations have shown the situation to have worsened since the initial inspection, meaning that the pool will remain closed until at least 17th April.
A District Council spokesperson said: “We sympathise with the many regular users and those who have had their swimming lessons moved or cancelled and we want to re-assure them that we are doing all we can to get the pool open again as soon as possible.
“We have moved all stage 2 swimming lessons and are in the process of rearranging the toddler lessons to the main pool. People with lessons that can’t be moved will be offered a full refund. Our staff are continuing to communicate with users and we ask people to bear with us whilst we resolve the issue.”
The main pool remains open as normal and a timetable and further details can be found on the District Council’s website
Further updates about the teaching pool closure will be posted on the District Council’s website and on Arc Leisure’s Facebook page
