Free marketing workshop for Dales businesses

'Champagne Marketing on a Lemonade Budget' is the theme of the next in a series of Derbyshire Dales District Council free marketing workshops early in the New Year.

Delivered by professional trainer Lindsey Newman Wood of Passion Marketing and part funded by the D2N2 Growth Hub, the session takes place from 5.30 - 8.30pm on 11 January at the District Council's Ashbourne Leisure Centre, but places are limited and should be booked as soon as possible at

The training is designed to be engaging and fun, giving real life examples of some of the pitfalls of marketing and how to avoid them.

Simon Wildash 300pxLocal businessman Simon Wildash, who attended a fully-booked similar workshop in Bakewell last week, picked up a number of practical marketing tips to help promote his new business venture olive, which uses smart meter technology to wirelessly monitor heating oil usage.

Simon, director of a Carsington-based olive, launched the company with business partner Paul Miles after receiving advice and support from the District Council's Business Advisor.
