Great Arc Zumbathon to boost local charities

A team of fitness instructors at our Arc Leisure Matlock are organising a charity fund-raiser billed as "the ultimate dance challenge".

The Great Arc Zumbathon takes place at Arc on Saturday 10 October to raise cash for two important local charities, Ashgate Hospice and the Air Ambulance.

One of the organisers, Dave Pryor said:

"It's a brilliant venue, with loads of space, hopefully for lots of dancers. It doesn't matter if you're a Zumba fan or a complete newcomer, the music is great and the moves are easy and we really hope this is going to be an event to remember!

"The challenge of the Zumbathon is to see how long you can dance for – one, two or up to even 3 hours. There will be a quick break after each hour, and people can rest whenever they want."

The entrance fee is £5 per person and every penny will go to the charities supported. Men, women and young people aged over 14 are welcome to join in and Zumba is suitable for people able to safely take aerobic exercise. Participants need to wear 'sports' type clothing and trainers and it's a good idea to bring a towel and water.
