Our apologies if you are experiencing problems with scheduled waste and recycling collections this week.
A number of issues, including vehicle breakdowns and road closures, means that in some cases our contractor Serco is returning to collect missed bins the day after your scheduled day.
Our crews will be working on Saturday (15 August) this week in an attempt to catch up with any remaining missed bins.
For the rest of this week, the message to Dales residents is to please leave out your uncollected waste and recycling and we will get to you as soon as possible. If your missed bin hasn't been collected by late afternoon on Saturday, please take it in and we will do a double collection on your next scheduled day for the waste or recycling that has been missed.
For the avoidance of doubt, this means if we miss a recycling collection this week, then we will collect double the usual amount of recycling on your next scheduled recycling collection day. The same applies for domestic waste.
Unfortunately recycling trucks cannot collect domestic waste and vice-versa, so a double collection cannot happen as early as next week.
- You can also if you wish and are able, use Derbyshire County Council's household waste disposal sites in Darley Dale's Harrison Way, at Ashbourne, Chesterfield and Buxton, all of which are open seven days a week.
