A neighbourhood planning referendum will be held for the Wirksworth Neighbourhood Plan on Thursday 7 May.
It means Wirksworth residents have the opportunity to place an additional vote on 7 May at the same time as Parliamentary, district, town and parish elections take place.
The question asked in the referendum will be:
"Do you want Derbyshire Dales District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Wirksworth to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
The referendum follows the District Council's decision to accept an Examiner's Report – and the referendum area and the area covered by the neighbourhood plan is the civil parish of Wirksworth, in which there are potentially 4,028 voters.
Related documents, including an independent report, are available to view online - and paper copies can be viewed during office hours at the town halls in Matlock and Wirksworth.
- To vote on 7 May, you need to be registered. The registration deadline is 20 April and it takes only five minutes to register online. There's more information on our webpages or contact the District Council's elections helpline on 01629 761 335, or email electoral@derbyshiredales.gov.uk.
