Derbyshire Dales firms will get sound advice on how to give their business a boost at a series of free events in March.
Organised by Derbyshire Dales District Council on the theme of 'Promoting business growth', evening business forums will take place at Matlock Town Hall (16th), Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre (17th) and Ashbourne Leisure Centre (24th), running from 6.15 to 8pm.
Part of the District Council's business engagement programme, the events will be hosted by Chief Executive Dorcas Bunton to increase awareness of the help and funding available for local firms.
It's a chance to hear from Dales companies which, with help from the District Council's business adviser, have been successful recently in securing grants and loans to grow their business.
Businesses will also learn how to use the free 'Inspired by the Peak District' brand - now carried by over 100 Peak District businesses - to give their business a marketing edge, and hear from Derbyshire County Council on progress with the Derbyshire Broadband programme, Digital Derbyshire.
District Council Leader Councillor Lewis Rose OBE said:
"Supporting local business continues to be one of our top priorities and in recent times companies here in the Derbyshire Dales have secured growth grants totalling £571,000, many helped with business plans and application forms by our business advisor.
"These March forums will help local businesses identify how to get the support they need and those attending will also learn more about national and local support initiatives to assist business growth.
"Since launching our free Derbyshire Dales Business Advice service three years ago, the District Council is proud to have assisted over 450 established and new start businesses, helping to create 275 new jobs – but we know there is still more good work to be done."
The evening will also include a question and answer session.
