Snow update - 27 December

All four of our leisure centres opened on schedule today (Saturday) despite heavy snowfalls on Boxing Day night - but waste and recycling collections have been suspended because of poor road conditions.

We had hoped to do usual Friday collections today, but it wasn't safe for our waste & recycling vehicles to leave the depot at Longcliffe. Catch up plans will be published later and in the meantime check your next scheduled collection date here.

It was better news at our leisure centres in Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock and Wirksworth, all of which opened on schedule after the Christmas break - but users are warned to take care as access roads, car parks and paths have been affected by snow and ice.

Derbyshire County Council is responsible for gritting roads. More details
