Assets of Community Value

This consultation ended at 12pm on 13 March 2013.

The Localism Act 2011 introduces Assets of Community Value (also known as the Community Right to Bid). This gives the local community the right to nominate a building or area of land as an Asset of Community Value. The District Council must consider and determine each nomination.

The District Council must adopt a policy to manage the process when a nomination has been received. Although the process is largely prescribed by statute, the District Council would like to share the draft policy with you.

It is intended that the draft policy [PDF 0.53MB] will be considered by the Corporate Committee of Derbyshire Dales District Council on 14 March 2013.

If you have any queries please contact Kelly Tuck (Solicitor) on 01629 761319 or email The deadline for feedback/queries is 12pm on 13 March 2013.
