The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) outlines how the District Council proposes to involve the community within the planning process. This involves seeking to engage with the community in both the preparation of the Derbyshire Dales Local Plan and in the determination of planning applications. The SCI seeks to ensure that members of the public, and other stakeholders have a clear understanding of when and how they can participate in both the plan making process and within the decision making process in respect of planning applications.
The District Council's current SCI was adopted in 2007. Since that time a number of changes have been made to the planning system and it has therefore been necessary to update the SCI to reflect such changes.
The draft revised SCI was subject to a period of six weeks public consultation from 5th November 2015 to 17th December 2015. The outcomes of this consultation will be presented in a report to council on 16th March. The agenda for this meeting will be available, 5 working days prior to the meeting, by following this link.
