A polling district is the smallest geographical sub-division for electoral purposes. Many correspond to parishes or parish meeting areas and the majority have a polling station within their boundary. Where that is not practicable the polling district will be allocated to a polling station nearby.

The first consultation stage of the Review ran from 1 August to 2 September and the comments received, together with the comments of the Acting Returning Officer, were reported to Council on 26 September.
There is now a second opportunity to submit comments on the proposals, which are detailed in the report presented to Council, available here, together with a summay of the 'cost per voter' at each station, here
