Election of European Members of Parliament for the East Midlands Region - 23rd May 2019

  1. Nomination papers must be delivered to me or a Deputy Regional Returning Officer at the Members Room, Municipal Offices, Bowling Green Road, Kettering NN15 7QX. Delivery of the nomination papers can then be made from 16th April 2019 onwards from 10am to 4pm on any working day but no later than 4pm on 25th April 2019. Nomination papers can be obtained from the above address and during the time for delivery of the papers.
  2. The deposit for each registered political party or individual candidate (£5,000) can be paid by legal tender, bankers draft or with the Regional Returning Officer’s consent, by electronic transfer of funds.
  3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 23rd May 2019.
  4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN by 12 midnight on Tuesday 7th May 2019. Applications can be made online: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
  5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN by 5pm on Wednesday, 8th May 2019.
  6. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at at Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN by 5pm on Wednesday, 15th May 2019.
  7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election applied for on the following grounds must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at at Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN by 5pm on Thursday, 23rd May 2019.
  • in the case of a medical condition, illness or disability arising after the deadline for ordinary proxy applications (i.e. 5pm on 15th May 2019)
  • if the person is a mental health patient detained under civil powers (i.e., who are not detained offenders)
  • if a person’s occupation, service or employment means they cannot go to the polling station in person and they became aware of this fact after the deadline for ordinary proxy applications (i.e. 5pm on 15th May 2019)
