The Farming Life Centre walks
Thursday Monthly Easy walks 1.15pm – 2.30pm
Supporting the well-being of Peak District Farming Communities
A gentle monthly afternoon walk, on Thursdays. Meet at 1.15pm for 60 - 90 minutes walk, with the opportunity for coffee and cake and a good chat afterwards! Our walks are short and ‘Easy’ on good surfaces but may involve some stiles or ascents/descents over a short distance.
In the event of extreme weather conditions, please contact the Farming Life Centre to confirm the walk is going ahead.
|Thursday August 26th||Meet in car park at Arkwright's Mill at Cromford. We will take a gentle stroll down the canal allowing us to enjoy the abundant wildlife. Followed of course by refreshments at one of the cafes|
|Meet in the free car park in Eyam (opposite Eyam Hall) for a pleasant walk around the village and its surroundings, followed by a coffee and cake at the Coolstone (weather allowing)|
|Thursday October 7th||Meet in the layby at Alport near the river Lathkill, 3/4 mile east of Youlgrave. We will walk in the beautiful Lathkill Dale, followed by coffee and cake at Peak Feast cafe in Youlgrave.|
|Thursday November 4th||Meet in the long layby which is half a mile on from the traffic lights where the Bamford junction meets the A57. The layby is on the left hand side of the A57 before Ashopten Bridge. An autumnal walk beside Derwent Dams followed by refreshments at the Bird cafe.|
|Thursday December 9th||Meet at the Agricultural Centre in Bakewell (ABC) near Christmas for our annual walk here followed by festive nibbles at the Bakewell Pudding Shop.|
