The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.
This is part of the government’s Plan for Jobs and aims to create hundreds and thousands of new, fully funded jobs across England, Scotland and Wales. The first placements are likely to be available from November.
Funding will cover for each job placement:
100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week
the associated employer National Insurance contributions
employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions

The Skills Toolkit - learn and improve digital skills
The Skills Toolkit launched by the Government can help people to develop their workplace and digital skills. Online training is available at beginner, intermediate and advance levels and all courses are free. See the Government website to learn more.

This scheme aims to support individuals with those first vital steps towards gaining employment through a personalised service and support to overcome barriers that might need to be overcome.

- Opportunity and Change – a support programme for people with multiple and complex needs
- Towards Work – supporting those with barriers on their first steps towards employment
