Bolehill Conservation Area

Bolehill Conservation Area is predominantly a rural area, located adjacent to, and continuous with, the north-west boundary of Wirksworth Conservation Area.

The northern boundary of the Bolehill Conservation Area includes properties at the junction of New Road and Nan Gells Hill and continues to the east along Oakerthorpe Road.  The southern boundary of Bolehill directly abuts Wirksworth Conservation Area boundary and to the west it includes properties on Bolehill Road and land beyond including the site of the Bage Mine.

The original designation of Bolehill Conservation Area was in January 1976.  An appraisal was carried out in 2003 of the Conservation Area, although this was quite limited in content and no amendments were recommended to the boundary. It currently comprises 8.3 hectares.
