Special delivery of wind turbine units bound from Goole for Carsington Pasture Wind Farm is likely to cause local traffic disruption for two weeks from 22 November.
Several journeys from Goole docks will be via Ashbourne and then the B5035 road, with delivery vehicles scheduled to enter Manystones Lane during the early afternoon of 22, 25, 26, 28 and 29 November and 3, 4 and 6 December.
Carsington Pasture Liaison Committee chairman Garry Purdy, who is also a district councillor, said:
"All deliveries are subject to weather conditions and other factors such as the possible lack of a police escort.
"Depending on the weather, the towers and blades should be fully erected before Christmas leave, but will not be commissioned to the grid at that stage. It is anticipated that this will happen in January, when West Coast Energy are planning an official opening ceremony."
- West Coast Energy say that Carsington Wind Farm, which is to be situated north of Carsington and west of Wirksworth, should generate enough clean electricity to power over 4,400 homes.
