Discount delight at our new studio

For just £1 from 20-24 August punters can try out new daytime classes in a revamped studio at Derbyshire Dales District Council's Wirksworth Leisure Centre.

The fabulous refurbishment of the former first floor lounge at the Leisure Centre has created an ideal space for fitness classes, prompting a new daytime programme that officially launches on 3 September.

To give local people a taste of what's to come, each of the new classes is available for just £1 from 20-24 August, including weight loss, x-biking, body tone, chair-based exercise, healthy hearts and circuits.

Chairman of Derbyshire Dales District Council's Communities Committee Councillor Mrs Carol Walker said:

"Local people continue to tell us how important a healthy lifestyle is to them and the new studio at Wirksworth Leisure Centre, which has been created using £3,000 of external funding, is a real boost.

"Daytime programmes have been difficult to include at Wirksworth in the past because our centre there is a dual-use facility that also serves Anthony Gell School. Now we have much more flexibility and we want local people to give the daytime classes a go."

Manager of Wirksworth Leisure Centre Neil Spencer said:

"Our evening fitness classes are already a hit, but the new studio looks great and adds a new dimension to our offering."
