Follow the Torch Relay on Twitter
- Thursday, 28 June 2012 09:17
Wherever you are on Friday 29 June, you can follow the progress of the Olympic Torch Relay through the Derbyshire Dales on Twitter.
We'll be posting live updates on the District Council's Twitter feed from around midday, just before an Olympic Parade of hundreds of school children makes its way from Matlock Bridge to our Hall Leys Park, where a whole host of entertainment is planned from 12.30pm.
We'll be 'Tweeting' to let you know if the Torch is running to timetable as it makes it way through Matlock from 2.50pm, Darley Dale from 3.15pm, Bakewell from 4.25pm and Ashbourne from 6pm. Look out for the #derbystorch hashtag.
We'll also be updating the District Council's Facebook pages and from Monday you'll be able to view photographs of the Olympic flame's tour through the Dales on our Flickr gallery.
Here's a detailed guide to the Torch's day in the Dales.
- Remember: arrive early to see the Torch Relay and expect delays on the roads. With an improving weather forecast, it's going to be busy in all the Dales towns.
